In the first book, Unearthly, Clara learns what her purpose as an angel blood is, but then chooses to change what she's supposed to do when the time comes. Hallowed picks up where Unearthly ended and we follow Clara as she deal with her choices and learns more about what it means to be part angel. More secrets are revealed as Clara's mother finally starts to tell Clara and her brother more about her past. I didn't like this book as much as the first. It was enjoyable and I liked it, but I REALLY liked the first one. This story didn't really seem to pick up any steam, it just kind of puttered along and then ended. I don't feel any sense of urgency to get my hands on the next book and I don't feel like I'm left with any lasting impressions. If you're into the whole angel thing and read the first book, I would recommend it.
